The meniscus of the knee is a crescent-shaped fibrocartilaginous anatomical structure that refers to the cartilage of the knee, either to the lateral or medial meniscus. The meniscus provides structural integrity to the knee and absorbs shock. A torn meniscus is one of the most common knee injuries, especially in sports. We are also more susceptible to injury as we age.
In this video, learn the basics about a meniscus tear and practice some simple exercises that you can do anywhere with no equipment. We will take a holistic approach, looking at hip, knee, ankle and foot influences. These knee rehab exercises can help you get stronger and avoid meniscus tear surgery.
