Shoulder impingement syndrome occurs as a result of chronic, repeated compression of the structures attaching to the scapula. These include the long head of the biceps tendon, the bursa, rotator cuff, or the ligaments in the shoulder. This impingement causes pain and movement problems in many ranges, particularly overhead motions. Treatment should include a full-body approach to strengthen the tissue surrounding the shoulder.
In this video, get a basic explanation of shoulder mechanics and how the bones that make up the shoulder joint move together. (Feel free to fast forward straight to the workout) Follow with a strengthening routine using the small ball and TheraBand. Take a full-body approach to better shoulders. Lower your pain by addressing muscle weaknesses.
