The Golf swing is a complex sequence of joint movements of the whole body to propel the ball great distances with accuracy. This movement relies on the coordinated sequence of muscle activation to produce a fluid and reproducible movement. To do this, we need adequate core strength and mobility.
In this routine, several Pilates based exercises will be adapted to help improve the muscles associated with the game of golf. We will start with an isometric warm-up, followed by some range of motion isometrics with the yoga strap. Many rotational Pilates exercises are demonstrated in this video, such as the saw, roll-ups, single leg circle, teaser, and backbends, and plank variations. The TheraBand will be used to provide rotational stress against the muscles so that these exercises will help with spinal strength and mobility.
