Stress has become an all too common companion as we work to meet the demands of work, relationships, and personal responsibilities. Stress can affect our health in a negative way, leaving us feeling depressed and overwhemed. It can also lead to increased cortisol, which produces inflammation in the body and increase blood pressure. Prolonged stress can lead to weight gain, fatique, pain, and muscle loss.
In this Yoga practice, we begin with a short pranayama segment to set the mind. Next, we will focus on hip and spine related postures to energize the body, improve mobility, and calm the nervous system. Using two Yoga blocks and a strap for support, experience freedom in the legs and hips.
This practice is beneficial for all levels of fitness and designed to be healing for the body.
